The Sumner woman responsible for a crash that paralyzed a Sumner man has been sentenced, according to KIMT. 33 year old Melissa Nickerson was sentenced to three to five years of supervised probation and ordered to pay over $57,000 in restitution to Jeffrey Bloom. Nickerson rear ended Bloom in the 3400 block of 140th Street back on September 17th of 2019. She was carrying on a social media conversation at the time of the collision. Bloom was left paralyzed from the chest down.
