More details have been released regarding Waverly Shell Rock’s search for a new Superintendent, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Ed Klamfoth announced he would retire at the end of this school year after 11 years with the district. Search firm Grundmeyer Leader Services has been brought in to help find a new superintendent. The district will pay them nearly $18,000. The listed salary for the position will be between $200,000 and $230,000 for a three year contract. The district will pay up to $7,500 for relocation fees. The application period is currently open and will close on December 31st. The firm hopes to review candidates the week of January 8th and screen candidates the week of January 15th. The final, formal interviews will be held the week of January 29th. There will eventually be a link for community members to share their opinions on what characteristics the new superintendent should have, but it is not available yet. The school board also discussed Klamfoth’s outstanding vacation time. He currently has about 50 unused days of vacation. The board agreed to pay Klamfoth $800 per day for 20 days.
