According to the Courier, the Iowa Supreme Court will take its show on the road Tuesday to hear oral arguments in Waverly.
Justices from the high court will also travel to area schools to talk about the Iowa judicial system and the role of the courts in Iowa on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Oral arguments in the Supreme Court’s consideration of Iowa vs Stephen Andrew Arrieta will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Rada Auditorium at Waverly-Shell Rock High School.
The case is out of Worth County and involves the challenge to a drug charge stemming from a traffic stop. Arrieta is arguing he was unlawfully detained while awaiting the arrival of a drug-detection dog and challenging the reliability and training of the dog.
The proceedings are open to the public and a public reception with the Supreme Court justices will be in the auditorium lobby sponsored by the Bremer County Bar Association following arguments.
