A suspicious device found Wednesday afternoon near the Hudson schools briefly caused an evacuation in the neighborhood, according to KWWL. Police were called to an area just south of the school campus Wednesday afternoon. There were apparently no students at the school at the time of the discovery. The Waterloo Police Department Bomb Unit was called in and nearby homes were evacuated. The Bomb Unit rendered the device safe and the evacuation was ended. No further information regarding the device or who may have placed it there has been made public.
