A Nashua Plainfield grad who went on to a highly successful coaching career at North Linn was allowed to quietly resign despite facing accusations of state ethical violations, including an inappropriate relationship with students, according to KCRG. Travis Griffith, who was also an English teacher, was the long time baseball coach and had recently taken over as the head basketball coach after serving as an assistant. The Iowa Board of Educational Examiners has issued a finding of probable cause citing violations of three sections of the state Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics, including one for “soliciting, encouraging, or consummating a romantic or otherwise inappropriate relationship with a student.” The details of the violations have not been made public and no charges have been filed against Griffith.
