A Waterloo teenager has been arrested after a search found a gun and marijuana, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 17 year old Andrew Spates III has been charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm after a search of a vehicle he was found in turned up a loaded 9mm handgun with an extended magazine under his seat. Police also searched Spates’ home as part of the investigation. Spates is prohibited from handling firearms after a juvenile court conviction of Intimidation with a Weapon in November of 2021.
