A teenager in Waterloo who was tied to the shooting of two other teenagers in April has been arrested after a gun and drugs were found in his hotel room, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Police say they found a loaded .22 caliber AR-style rifle as well as marijuana in the room of 19 year old Jalyis Thomas. He was charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Possession of Marijuana With Intent to Deliver. Thomas had been handed a deferred judgment after being found with marijuana during the investigation of the April shooting.
