A 16 year old has been charged in connection with a shooting in Waterloo at the end of May, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Tyrale Wright has been charged as an adult with second degree Robbery and Willful Injury Causing Serious Injury. On May 31st 19 year old Cole McGrew came over to Wright’s apartment to show him a handgun. The two went outside to take pictures with the gun. Wright attempted allegedly to take the gun and a struggle ensued. During the tussle the gun allegedly fired, hitting McGrew in the chest. McGrew survived but is paralyzed from the chest down. The gun was later found in Wright’s apartment. He, himself, was shot when he was 12 years old after a fight at the National Cattle Congress Fair in 2022.
