Teen Shot During Robbery Sentenced

A teen involved in a robbery at a mobile home in Cedar Falls that left the victim with a gunshot wound has been sentenced, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 18 year old Alberto Quinto pleaded guilty to first degree Robbery and second degree Burglary. He was sentenced to 35 years in prison, but that was suspended. Instead, he will serve two to five years of probation. Typically the Robbery charge carries a mandatory prison sentence but because Quinto was a minor at the time of the crime that was waived. Quinto, along with Aubrianna Leinbaugh and Megan Palmer, allegedly hid in some bushes and waited for the resident to return to their home. When he did they popped out and demanded his wallet. The victim instead ran off and was shot in the thigh. The trio of alleged robbers then went inside the home and stole an xBox, a TV, and other items.
