Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds held a press conference Thursday morning at 11:00. She shared about her visit with President Donald Trump yesterday. She says she gave the president an update on the situation in Iowa. The president was impressed with Dr. Caitlin Pedati of Iowa Department of Public Health and asked her to join his Coronavirus Task Force. Governor Reynolds also announced that the state’s COVID-19 website, coronavirus.iowa.gov, has been updated with charts, data and more up to date case counts than previously offered.
Iowa has 655 new cases of COVID-19 for a total of 11,059, 12 new deaths for a total of 231 dead in Iowa. 4,266 Iowans have recovered from the virus after testing positive. 66,427 Iowans have been tested, that means 1 in every 46 Iowans have been tested. The state also has 74% of its ventilators available for use as of Thursday.
Locally Bremer County has 1 new case for a total of 56 and 5 deaths, Butler County has 11 cases, Fayette County has 24, Floyd County has 2 and Black Hawk County Health Department says they have 1603 cases and 20 deaths.
