A Waterloo toddler who inhaled citronella oil earlier this summer is set to go home Tuesday, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. After 3 year old Barrett Fairchild injested the oil used as fuel for Tiki torches, he was taken to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital for treatment. He had a breathing tube inserted and had a number of procedures in order to treat damage done to his lungs. He also had to be sedated for large periods of time meaning that his muscles weakened. He has been receiving physical therapy to regain his strength in order to be released from the hospital Tuesday.
