A train derailed in Hampton Monday morning, according to KCCI. Union Pacific says 44 cars carrying mixed commodities derailed on bridge over a creek at around 3:30am Monday. As a result of the derailment, some asphalt spilled into a creek. Hazmat teams were called to the scene and emergency response activities were undertaken. The crew was not hurt in the derailment, the cause of which remains under investigation.
