Tripoli Educator Sentenced

A former principal in the Osage School District has been sentenced for his drunk driving arrest, according to KIMT. 43 year old Jay Marley pleaded guilty to OWI 1st offense and has been given 2 days in jail and a fine of $1,250. That sentence may be served in an Iowa DOT approved OWI program. Marley was arrested in Charles City back in February after being pulled over for a traffic violation. His blood alcohol content was measured at .152, nearly twice the legal limit to drive. He was placed on leave as the middle school principal at Osage. He returned to work in March and finished out the year. He has now taken a job in the Tripoli School District.
