Heavy rain Tuesday led to flooding in some local areas. Several spots around Waverly, including the municipal golf course and Hertel Field saw an excess of water. Videos of flooding in Oelwein were posted on social media. Flooded roads were also reported near Tripoli, Sumner and Fredericksburg. The rain that fell was part of Tropical Storm Cristobal, which became the first tropical storm to reach Iowa since at least 1900. More rain is expected Wednesday.
