Cedar Falls Public Safety responded twice to PPG Coatings Services on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, according to KWWL. The initial call came in around 9:00 p.m. Tuesday reporting smoke in the facility. Crews were able to get the fire under control. They determined the furnace had burned out. Then about 5:00 a.m Wednesday crews were called back to the facility after smoke built up again from a heated oven. The fire forced the evacuation of employees but nobody was injured. The business sustained smoke, fire, and water damage.
