The Waverly Shell Rock School District has announced they have filled two open principal positions. Emilee Metcalf has been named the permanent principal of both Prairie West and Shell Rock Elementary Schools. She served as interim principal at both schools following the untimely death of former principal Suz Smolikhagen. Beginning July 1st, Whitney Aldrich will serve as the principal of the Lied Education Center. She will take over for Tori Watson who will be taking a new position in the Decorah Community School District. Aldrich is currently the Special Education Consultant with the Central Rivers Area Education Agency. She holds a Masters of Education Degree from Morningside College and an administrative license from Dordt University. The Lied Education Center serves students with significant behavioral challenges.
