UNI Offers In-State Tuition to More Border States

The University of Northern Iowa will officially offer students from Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wisconsin the same tuition as in-state students beginning this Fall. The initiative, known as UNI’s Neighboring State Rate, will charge students from those six surrounding states just over $10,000 for the 2025-26 academic year. That is more than $12,000 cheaper than it would have been compared to the former non-resident rates. The Iowa Board of Regents will still have to finalize the plan at their July 30th meeting.
