Wednesday at 11:00 Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds update COVID-19 numbers: 416 new cases and 12 new deaths. 93% of those new cases have come from the 22 counties with elongated closures, yesterday that figure was 98%. That means Iowa now has 6,843 total cases and 148 deaths. 2,428 Iowans have recovered from the virus. A test site is open at Crossroads Mall in Waterloo. In order to be tested you have to have visited testiowa.com and scheduled an appointment through that site after taking the assessment. 229,000 Iowans have taken the assessment with Test Iowa.
The Iowa Department of Public Health has updated local COVID-19 numbers. Bremer County has 2 new cases and 50 total with 3 deaths, Butler County has 8 cases, Chickasaw has 5 cases and Fayette County has 20. The state has Black Hawk County with 1,082 cases and 13 deaths. The county reported over 1,300 Tuesday and then said there was a discrepancy in the numbers in a Facebook post, but didn’t elaborate.
