UTV Crashes Lead to Hospitalizations

A UTV crash near Fairbank led to a passenger being air lifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, according to KWWL. Richard King of Waterloo lost control of his UTV around 6:00 p.m Saturday, causing the vehicle to roll over. His passenger, Christopher Weber, also of Waterloo, sustained life-threatening injuries. King was charged with OWI and cited for Failure to Maintain Control, Open Container, Failure to Provide Proof of Insurance and Fraudulent Use of ATV/UTV Registration.

One person was sent to the hospital in a UTV collision involving a Sumner man, according to the KWWL. David Spier was driving the UTV northwest of Lamont on Saturday when he was rear ended by another UTV. One passenger was taken to the hospital with what were described as non life threatening injuries. The four other people involved in the collision did not require emergency medical assistance. Corbin Dehning of Ossian, the other driver, was cited for Failure to Stop in Assured Clear Distance.
