A car thief in Waterloo got more than they bargained for when they found a five month old baby in the back seat of a vehicle they stole, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. The mother had left the child in the vehicle as she went into Dollar General on Sunday around 6:30 p.m. When she came outside she found the vehicle and her child missing. Around 7:45 p.m. the perpetrator showed up in the vehicle at the woman’s home. They dropped off the child before again driving away. The child was unharmed. The vehicle was later found parked in Waterloo. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
