A confusing letter has been discovered circulating through Waverly asking for donations to the Volunteer Firefighter’s Alliance. According to Waverly Fire Department Chief Dennis Happel, while the organization seems to be legitimate, it is in no way affiliated with the Waverly Fire Department, as the organization appears to be based out of Topeka, Kansas.
Chief Happel says the letter is asking for money as well as volunteering services to their cause:
Chief Happel and the Waverly Police Department are currently following up on the letter, but for now they do not condone residents answering it.
