Tuesday a vote will be held to approve a $31 million bond to build two new elementary schools in Waverly and renovate the high school and Shell Rock elementary.
Waverly-Shell Rock superintendent Ed Klamfoth shares why the school feels this is needed.
“… to be.” (:37) Ed Klamfoth- Why Now
Should the measure pass the elementary schools will be built at the Champions Ridge site and just south of St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Horton Road.
Klamfoth says the middle school will be paid off in June 2023 which is six years earlier than expected. This new twenty year levy would start after that and would therefore not increase taxes from their current level.
For the special election to be held on March 2, 2021, voting centers will be available. Any registered voter of the Waverly-Shell Rock Community School District may vote in person on election day at any of the following places:
Janesville Riviera Roose Community Center – 307 Maple St., Janesville
Bremer County Secondary Roads – 1995 Euclid Ave., Waverly
Waverly City Hall – 200 1st St NE, Waverly
Redeemer Lutheran Church – 2001 W Bremer Ave., Waverly
Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
