STATEMENT BY WAVERLY-SHELL ROCK SUPERINTENDENT DAVID R. HILL
REGARDING DECEMBER 18, 2024 BUS INCIDENT IN WAVERLY
This morning, a Waverly-Shell Rock school bus was rear ended at low speed by another motor vehicle while stopped at a railroad crossing in Waverly. At the time of the incident, approximately 11 students and a driver were on the bus.
The Waverly Police Department was called to the scene and an incident report was filed. The district transportation director contacted the families of all students on board. Initial reports indicated no injuries to students or staff members. Subsequently, one parent has opted to remove their child from school to have their child evaluated by medical personnel.
