The Waverly Shell Rock School District will be getting two new elementary schools while renovating a third, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. The Board of Education approved a plan to renovate the elementary in Shell Rock while building two brand new schools in Waverly. The other option proposed by the district would have still seen the Shell Rock school renovated but just one, larger elementary would have been built. The plan is likely to need a bond referendum to pass, estimated to be around $45 million. It will also include some money to upgrade the high school. It is unclear where the new schools will be built and what will happen to the old buildings.
