Wapsie Valley Audit

Iowa State Auditor Rob Sand has issued his findings after a reaudit of the Wapsie Valley Community School District, according to KWWL. Sand looked into the districts spending from July 1, 2014 through October 18, 2018. Among the issues he pointed out were discrepancies in how concession sales and ticket sales were being handled. He also noted that the record keeping of expenditures and credit card usage was insufficient. Sand recommended that an outside bank account used for the basketball program’s out of school expenses be closed. Finally Sand suggested the school institute a system where supervisors can review and approve employee time sheets. Wapsie Valley has agreed with the recommendations.
