Kurt and Brenda Warner have been announced as the VIPs of the 2022 UNI Homecoming Parade. Kurt was enshrined into the NFL Hall of Fame in 2017 after starring for the Panthers in college. Between UNI and the NFL, Warner famously stocked shelves at Hy-Vee before playing with the Iowa Barnstormers and the Amsterdam Admirals. He would eventually win a Super Bowl with the St. Louis Rams, claiming the MVP of that game. He would guide his teams to two more Super Bowls, one with the Rams and one with the Cardinals. Warner was named the Leagues’ MVP twice and in 2008 was named the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year. His story was immortalized in the 2021 movie “American Underdog”.
