Waterloo Child Drowned

Waterloo Police confirm a four-year-old child drowned Saturday night.

Police say around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, officers were called to 1113 W. Mullan Ave on a report of a drowning in the bathtub. When officers arrived, Waterloo firefighters were already on scene tending to an unresponsive four-year-old. Police say the child was taken to Covenant Medical Center, and died. No charges have been filed for this investigation at this time. The reporting party, Walter Cordell Williams, was arrested on an unrelated warrant and violation of a no contact order. Williams is being held on a $1 million bond for violation of a no contact order and failure to appear.
