A man and woman from Waterloo were arrested after stealing more than $2,000 worth of merchandise from stores in Cedar Rapids, according to KCRG. 32 year old Steven Esparza and 27 year old Jessica Morris were arrested inside of Bed, Bath, and Beyond on Monday. Earlier in the day they had walked out of Dick’s Sporting Goods with nearly $1,400 worth of items in a shopping cart without paying. They loaded the items into a 1997 Chevy S10 truck that later was determined to also be stolen before driving to Bed, Bath, and Beyond. After the two were arrested more than $1,000 worth of merchandise from a Walgreens that had also been stolen were located in the vehicle. Esparza was also found to have outstanding warrants out of Black Hawk and Bremer Counties.
