A Waterloo home caught fire Saturday night, according to KWWL. Crews were called to a home near the intersection of Clearview and Shirley Streets around 10:45. Waterloo Fire Rescue reports that a bedroom sustained significant damage after a mattress caught on fire. The rest of the home suffered light smoke damage. An 11 year old was home when the fire started, but got out safely. They live in the home with an adult. They are being assisted by the Red Cross. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
