Former Iowa Hawkeye football star and current area high school official Robert Smith has released memoir. The book, titled Before the World Knew My Name, documents Smith’s journey from Dallas, Texas to playing football at the University of Iowa for legendary head coach Hayden Fry, to becoming a school and community leader in Waterloo, and a high school referee.
