The Waterloo Public Library remains closed with no plans to reopen at this time. The library was expected to be closed from October 19-23 so that a new public elevator could be installed but delays in that construction have kept the library closed. Library Director Robbin Degeratu says that drilling company encountered several unexpected delays leading to the extended closure, which they described as “frustrating.” The construction creates extreme noise which is not condusive for a library. No materials are due back at this time. Materials will not be checked in and people should not use the outside book drop.
