A Waterloo man has been sentenced after being found with an AR-15 while following an unmarked police car, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 23 year old David Wright, Jr, who was on supervised release from an earlier firearms charge when he was arrested, has been sentenced to 12 years and 7 months in prison for two counts of Being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Wright was riding in the passenger seat of a car that was witnessed following an unmarked police vehicle. When Police attempted to pull the vehicle over, it took off. It eventually came to a stop but Wright tried to flee on foot. The AR-15 had been reported stolen out of Humboldt County. Evidence showed Wright had also possessed a handgun in October of 2020.
