A Waterloo man was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City after being struck by an SUV while crossing the street in his motorized wheelchair, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. According to his family he died on Wednesday from his injuries. The crash happened around 3:40 Monday afternoon at the intersection of West Fourth and Allen Streets. The woman driving the SUV told police the sun was in her eyes and she did not see the man until it was too late. The names of those involved have not been released.
