The Waterloo Community School District is inviting residents, alumni, and students to help them choose a mascot and school colors for their new, unified high school. Ideas can be submitted by completing a form found at tinyurl.com/WaterlooMascot. There will also be two community meetings held at the Waterloo Career Center. Those meetings will be held on Thursday, March 6th and Tuesday, March 11th, both from 5:30 to 7. The meetings will allow attendees to share ideas, collaborate with others, and contribute to the identity of the new school. A selection committee will review all submissions and narrow them down to three final mascot and color combinations. The community will then vote on the finalists in late spring. The final decision must be approved by the school board. The new mascot and colors will be unveiled in the Fall.
