The Waterloo Community Foundation has announced its recipient of the Greg Freshwater Scholarship, according to KWWL. Onyotse Agbese is the latest receipient of the scholarship set up to help paramedics and EMTs get the training they need. Agbese will utilize the scholarship to attend paramedic school at Hawkeye Community College. She has been with Waterloo Fire Rescue since 2015. The Scholarship is named for Greg Freshwater, who was paramedic student when he was hit by a car while out for a run back in November of 2017. Agbene is the fourth person to be awarded the scholarship named for Freshwater.
