Waterloo to Chicago Flights Continue Through American Airlines

American Airlines will continue to provide flights from Waterloo to Chicago after winning out over a proposal from Air Choice One, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. American Airlines will provide one flight less than before as they previously had two flights per day from Waterloo to Chicago. Now, on Saturdays there will be just one flight. Director Keith Kaspari hopes that schedule will return to an early morning flight and an early afternoon flight, instead of the most recent schedule of two flights in the afternoon. Air Choice One had proposed 24 weekly flights from Waterloo to Minneapolis/St. Paul. Waterloo Mayor Quentin Hart, in a letter to the DOT, expressed the city’s desire to stay with American Airlines due to Air Choice One’s smaller planes, increased fares, and less connectivity in Minneapolis than in Chicago.
