Waterloo Woman Defrauded Pandemic Relief Program

A Waterloo woman has pleaded guilty to defrauding a program meant to help landlords during the pandemic, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 32 year old Chrishandia White pled guilty to one count of first degree Fraud. She used a made up name to register as a landlord with the Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security Act. White submitted 11 applications for tenants seeking rental relief for properties in Cedar Rapids that were owned by other people. The paycheck stubs that were submitted were determined to be fake. White received $20,000 in the scheme before being arrested in September.
