Waterloo Woman Set a Home on Fire

A Waterloo woman has been arrested after setting a home on fire on Friday night, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 29 year old Diamon Campbell is accused of setting a fire inside a residence at 327 Adams Street around 11:00 p.m. Friday. The resident, Sam Bailey, tried to put the fire out with a bowl of water but Campbell allegedly knocked the bowl away. Waterloo Fire Rescue was called to the scene and quickly put out the blaze but the home suffered smoke damage. The American Red Cross was called in to assist the resident. Campbell was also detained on a bench warrant for allegedly hitting another person with a tube of toothpaste in December. She was also awaiting sentencing for a burglary in which she punched a woman who was sitting in a parked car in July of 2021.
