Waverly Sharing Gardens Supervisor, Cory Petersen, has provided an update on the garden’s production. Over 100 pounds of tomatoes have been harvested in the last few days alone. Over 1,000 pounds of cucumbers were harvested this season. Japanese Beetles hurt the sweet corn harvest but many ears were still delivered. Peppers, beans, and potatoes also were big producers according to Petersen. Over 3,000 pounds of food were harvested and provided to people and organizations throughout the area this season.
If you would like to help with the Waverly Sharing Gardens volunteer hours are Saturdays from 9-11 am and Tuesdays 6-8 pm.
