A Waverly resident was involved in a crash in Fayette County on Friday afternoon. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene of a two vehicle accident at the intersection of C33 and R Avenue. After an investigation, the sheriff’s office determined a 2005 Jetta driven by 51 year old Peter Gordon of Fredericksburg stopped at a stop sign but then proceeded into the intersection where he struck a Nissan Pathfinder driven by 44 year old Rebecca Bagnall of Waverly. The Jetta sustained approximately $2,000 in damage while Bagnall’s Pathfinder suffered approximately $5,000 in damage. No injuries were reported. Gordon was cited for Failure to Yield to a Through Highway.
