Weapons & Drug Charges Filed

A rural Jesup man has been indicted on federal weapons and drug charges, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 60 year old Douglas Uchytil was witnessed following an injured deer on private property with a crossbow last November. A search of his home by the DNR found 21 guns, methamphetamine, THC products and a large amount of cash. They also found that he had used a Michigan doctor’s information to obtain a special disabled resident hunting permit in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2021, and 2022. Uchytil allegedly also had stolen trap tags belonging to 18 other people. He has been charged with Drug User in Possession of a Firearm, Identity Theft, Theft, Fraud, and Possession of meth with Intent to Deliver. He was also cited for Hunting with a Vehicle.
