Wednesday Morning Update

1,259,935 Iowans have been tested for the coronavirus to this point. 247,955 have tested positive. 173,432 have now recovered while 2,919 have died. A change was recently made in the way deaths are reported. This change now allows for a death to be COVID related whether the person ever tested positive or not. Because of that change it is harder to know the number of active cases in a county. Here are the 14 day positivity rates for the local counties: Bremer County is at 17%, Butler is at 18%, Floyd is at 19%, Chickasaw is at 19%, Fayette is at 12%, Buchanan is at 15% and Black Hawk is at 13%.
