On the morning of 11/26/2025, members from the Waverly Fire Department and Waverly Police Department extracted a deceased male from the Cedar River at the Waverly Rail Trail Bridge. After an initial investigation by the County Medical Examiner and Waverly Police, no foul play was detected. The name of the deceased is being withheld until all notifications to family members can be made. The investigation continues.
