The question of who, if anyone, could legally mandate masks in a city or county is one many in government are trying to find the answer to. During a recent Waverly City Council meeting Mayor Adam Hoffman said he believe the city didn’t have that authority but the county might.
Bremer County Health Department Administrator Lindley Sharp says the county is trying to find out if that is indeed true.
Sharp did not say for certain if Bremer County would pursue a mask mandate.
