A former cupcake decorator who was fired from her job after running over her ex husbands new girlfriend has won a battle for unemployment benefits, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 31 year old Marilyn Meron was fired from Scratch Cupcakery after she told a supervisor that she had run over her ex husband’s girlfriend. The supervisor texted Meron saying, “I can’t put you back on the schedule. We can’t have you representing the company.” A judge found that the misconduct happened outside the scope of Meron’s employment and that Meron worked in the kitchen, well away from the public. Meron, who allegedly struck the girlfriend in the face before running her over and leaving her with broken bones and internal hemorrhaging, will go to trial on charges of serious injury by vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident on June 15th.
