A Waterloo Woman was hospitalized after she was accidentally shot in the ankle on Tuesday morning, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Police were called to the Hawkeye Towers Apartments around 10:30am where they found the unidentified woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the ankle. She was taken to MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center for treatment of injuries not thought to be life threatening. Police determined the woman’s boyfriend had another person’s gun in his pants pocket when the gun accidentally fired. No charges have been filed to this point.
