A Waterloo woman has been arrested for allegedly punching her 14 year old daughter in the mouth in August of 2022, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Black Hawk County deputies arrested 34 year old Amber Smith on Wednesday. She was charged with Child Endangerment Causing Bodily Injury and four counts of Child Endangerment. Police were called to Smith’s home after midnight in August of 2022. When they arrived on scene they found the 14 year old girl bleeding from the mouth. They say Smith was intoxicated at the time. Four other children, ages 6, 8, 11, and 12, were also in the home at the time. The children were placed with another relative. An arrest warrant was issued in December. It is unclear why it took until now to make the arrest.
