A Waterloo woman and her cat had to be saved from a fire Wednesday night, according to KWWL. Firefighters were called to the scene of an apartment fire at the Mt Village Apartments on Mt Carmel Drive around 6:15 Wednesday evening. When they arrived they found the woman trapped inside the apartment. Crews were able to pull her to safety. She was taken to a nearby hospital. The woman’s cat was also saved by firefighters but had to be revived through the use of an oxygen recovery mask. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Its unclear how much damage was done to the apartment.
