A woman who played a role in her cousins murder in Waterloo has been arrested on unrelated charges in Virginia, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 25 year old Danaesha Martin is facing charges of Malicious Wounding and Conspiracy resulting from an incident in January in which a man was shot and a woman was hit by a vehicle in Portsmouth, Virginia. Martin was already awaiting sentencing for leading her cousin, Shavondes Martin, to his death in Waterloo in 2018. Authorities say Danaesha picked up Shavondes and delivered him to Raymond Birden, Jr. who, along with another man, shot Shavondes to death in an alley. Danaesha pleaded to a reduced charge of Conspiracy. She was expected to receive a suspended 10 year sentence until her name came up in the Virginia crime. Her sentencing here has been postponed until the outcome of the case in Virginia.
