A Waterloo woman was hospitalized Monday after being attacked by her own dog, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Neighbors called 911 after noticing the victim, a woman in her 60s, on the ground outside her home. An investigation determined that the woman’s pit bull attacked a smaller dog inside the home and then moved on to the woman. At some point in the attack, the pit bull disengaged and the woman was able to escape outside. She was taken to the hospital with injuries not thought to be life threatening. Animal Control officers detained the pit bull and their investigation is ongoing at this time.
